ROCKS
Vinita’s collection of rock landscapes, penjings, and suiseki is an extension of her work with bonsai. These are larger and more complex compositions. Rock landscapes bring together stone, soil, and plants to create miniature versions of real outdoor scenes. Penjing goes a step further, combining trees, rocks and sometimes even water features into living landscapes that evolve over time.
Alongside these, she also collects suiseki, which are naturally formed stones chosen for their shape, texture, and resemblance to mountains, hills, or other scenes in nature. Unlike the living compositions, suiseki are valued for being left as nature made them, and they are usually displayed on a simple base or tray. They reflect the same appreciation for natural form that runs through the rest of her work.
